Tying Knots So I Can Tie SJK's Shoelaces :)

During the second parade on Friday, we learnt new drills that are 'ke kenan pusing' and 'ke kiri pusing' . To us it was quite a difficulty at first, since we had to remember which side to turn to and which leg to lift. We also had to remember to lift our legs to 90° and bang with force. It was quite tough doing that for an hour but we tried our best to persevere and practise the new drills. After a while, we got used to it and it was quite fun and enjoyable.

One thing memorable while doing the drills was when the Ma'ams gave a surprise check by pushing all our arms while walking (more like running) through our ranks. Then, we realised our whole squad was not locking our arms. It was quite hilarious when everyone looked around and realised no one had locked our arms properly.

After the drills, we learnt how to tie 2 new knots for campcraft. It was called 'Fisherman's Knot' and 'Reef Knot'. Although it was quite difficult to follow the instructions, we tried our best and learnt a new skill! Also, we all are grateful that everyone took the initiative to help each other when we had problems trying to tie the new knot. It was great since everyone were learning the new skill through helping each other.

In this second parade, we learnt to remember the phrase 'leave no man behind' and also to have a sense of urgency. It was very enjoyable, and we look forward to next week's training.
