It's me again :)

Today was flag day.

Meryl, Wen Xuan and Tanya

Hmmmmm, today was fun and fun and a lot of fun... Tanya was so shy-shy and physic (she could tell if someone wouldn't donate). She refused to go up to anyone unless they were already taking out their wallets HAHA. Then this one mom gave her sons money to donate and unlike others, when she saw other groups, she didn't refuse to donate saying that she already donated and I thought it's very kind and sweet of her :)

We took MRT from Tampines to Simei (brilliant people live in Simei das all I'm saying) then from Simei to Tanah Merah but people in Tanah Merah refused to donate so we left after like 10 minutes. Afterwards, we went from Tanah Merah to Pasir Ris- where we met the super nice mom then we went back to Tampines where we got some more donations while waiting for ma'ams. Also, in Pasir Ris, we met this man who's like I will donate as long as it doesn't go to the government and I was like Woah anti-government much?
It was quite tiring but VERY fun and enriching.

Shraddha, Bernice and Pavina
Shraddha, Bernice and I were in one group today. It was really tiring as we had to stand for so long and ask people to donate. The feeling of rejection really wasn't nice, but we realised that if we just kept on asking people, someone will give.

Anyways, it was really worth it, although it's tiring and our legs and arms withered and cramped, as we are still doing it for a good cause. we decided to stay around the bus interchange, although we went to the shops around the area occasionally. A group of Ma'ams were also at the bus interchange. We made quite a few mistakes at the start, such as leaning into them too much, and Ma'am --- corrected our mistakes before we could make too many people feel pressurised/overwhelmed/freaked out.

Some people were really nice. For example, a Por Por approached me and donated some money. She was like: "how come there are so many people here today? oh yeah, today's Saturday you don't need to work right?"(in Chinese) and I'm like yeah it's Saturday but I'm not working I'm still in secondary school. However, some people were not so nice. Bernice got scolded by this aunty who said that she donated so much and she has no more money already. Maybe she's just stressed.

even saw this teacher who used to teach at my primary school for a while, but he doesn't know me and only recognise him by his face. I sort of bowed to him but I don't think he noticed. tried to go after him but someone donated some money so got held up a bit, so... anyways, towards the end, approached a young lady for donations, saw Ma'am donate some money to Bernice and Shraddha out of the corner of my eye.

Anyways, have said this a few times over the day, but as we assembled at the wrong place, Ma'am directed us to the correct place, and told us to just walk over. She told us to walk in front of the scouts of another school(they were in ranks), although we didn't notice it. One boy said that we were cutting squad, and the three of us freaked out and stepped backwards.

However, Ma'am said:"there is no space behind you, do you expect us to squeeze behind you?" then the boy was silent. think ma'am knocked his pride a bit. (Thank you ma'am). After we gathered, we started comparing the mass of our tins. The whole experience was really enriching and fun, and it was for a good cause too. However, it was really tiring too. Regardless, it was really enjoyable and it was a chance to bond with our squadmates as well.
